Leadership with experience
Lawrence Neufeld
Lawrence Neufeld entered the field of Mass Spectrometry in 1988, joining VG Elemental (now Thermo Fisher Scientific), as Field Engineer, following four years as a Research Associate with the Department of Biochemistry at Stony Brook University. His strong chemistry background directed him toward special applications and hyphenated techniques and in 1992 became the primary support in the US for LA-ICP-MS and ETV-ICP-MS. Following nine years focusing on laser ablation solid sampling Mr. Neufeld left Thermo Fisher in 2001 and was recruited by New Wave Research (now Elemental Scientific Lasers) supporting marketing and applications worldwide, as Product Manager. In 2006, Mr. Neufeld took over as President of Spectron, Inc. a respected cone consumables supplier, growing the company nearly four-fold in 14 years.
Dr. Martin Kasik
Dr. Kasik brings over 35 years of solid sampling experience to Spot On Analytics, including SIMS, IGA and GDMS. Following his departure from The Research Institute of Metals in the Czech Republic in 1991, Dr. Kasik joined Shiva Technologies (now EAG), based in Syracuse, NY. Heading up one of the most successful GDMS Analytical Labs has given him the kind of invaluable, broad experience that is helping Spot On Analytics enter this market on the strongest of footings.
In 2017, Dr. Kasik left EAG to start his own consulting firm, MK2 Technologies.
Dr. Kasik is as a senior consultant to Spot On Analytics.
Richard Balamut
38 years working in the analytical environment.
Joined National Environmental Testing (NET) in 1984, running AAS and GFAA, CVAA and ICP-AES, before being promoted to Division Manager in 1993. In 1997 Rich joined Shiva Technologies, now EAG. Rich worked alongside Dr. Martin Kasik promoting GDMS to the electronics, semiconductor and aerospace industries and serving as GM in 2001. In 2010 Rich joined NSL Analytical Services as Business Development Manager before joining Spot On Analytics in 2022.
